Special Chef Demonstrations
We are proud to welcome chefs Nonna Tindal and Leon Timmons for our 9 a.m. chef demonstration on Saturday.
Nonna and Leon will be helping us make the most of all the incredible summer produce offered at the Helena market. Saturday might be a perfect time for us "lapsed Weight Watchers members" to show up at the market and learn how to turn fresh, healthy produce into something special.
Nonna Tindal is the owner of Nonna’s Catering. She’s a true southern girl who loves the fellowship that is created around food. She was the food service director of First United Methodist Church in Birmingham for 14 years and has served in the area for 17 years. She has traveled throughout the world and used those opportunities to enjoy fantastic food and study with several chefs. Nonna’s motto, “educate your taste buds,” is based on her mother’s belief to always be willing to try something new.
Leon Timmons, who assists Nonna, was also born and raised in Birmingham. Cooking has been his passion throughout 36 years of service throughout the Birmingham area. Leon credits his grandmother as a major influence in his life, and he is well known for his incredible ability with meats and seafood. Leon says if he could cook in any kitchen in the world, it would be the White House. Leon’s motto is “cook with the freshest ingredients.”
Come visit Nonna and Leon on Saturday and educate your taste buds with the freshest ingredients. You can also call Nonna’s Catering at 205-441-1465!

Musical Guest:
We are proud to have Jeremy Puckett performing at the Helena Market Days this Weekend!
Helena hometown boy (and current South Alabama scholar) Jeremy Puckett returns to Helena Market Days this weekend. You may have caught him sitting in with our long-time fave Blaire Blackmon in the past. This time he's flying solo, and we are very much looking forward to see what he's been up to musically. Y'all come!
Spotlight Charity
Helena Market Days is proud to host the Shelby Humane Society this weekend in support of "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Adoptions" (better known as their $17.76 adoption promo). This is the third year for the event; in 2012, the Shelby Humane Society placed more than 190 pets into loving homes as a result of this promotion. This year the goal is to place more than 230 pets! Some will be available at the market.
