The HMD is proud to host Alabama Partners for Clean Air (APCA). APCA is an affiliation of public, private and nonprofit organizations working to implement strategies that improve air quality in Jefferson and Shelby counties. They do so by supporting voluntary projects and programs that reduce emissions from transportation-related sources. APCA's goals are to achieve and maintain compliance with national ambient air quality standards, to protect and improve public health, to minimize the economic impacts on existing businesses, and to maximize the potential for economic growth in the region. Helena Market Days will provide a rent-free space to one non-profit group each week of market season for purposes of fundraising. The space comes with a pop-up shelter and an 8-foot table. Qualifying organizations include churches, schools, civic organizations and charities, among others. Preference is given to Helena non-profits but any Shelby County organization may apply.
