Our final featured non-profit of the summer of 2012 is MOPS!. No, not the kind you use to wash floors. So, then, what is this whole “MOPS” thing? MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers” - but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from conception through kindergarten. Whether you’re urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you!
Being moms is what brings us together and allows us to build a community. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and those years are filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand. Come for Food, Fun and Fellowship! Child care is provided. Check us out on Facebook or www.mops.org and join us this Fall on 2nd & 4th Tuesdays from 10 to noon at First Baptist Church Helena - Christian Life Center, 815 Highway 52 East.

About of Musician

There aren't too many artists performing these days that can wow an audience on a consistent basis with captivating stage presence and pure talent like Birmingham native Andre Taylor. Writing his first song when he was 9 years old, he knew early this was what he wanted to do.  As an award-winning jazz trumpet soloist, Andre fell in love with music.  He would later evolve into a multi-talented singer/songwriter, picking up the piano and guitar and recording his own music--playing all parts of the songs.

Taking this talent to the stage, he stuns audiences by looping several parts of a song live and harmonizing with his own vocals to construct a concert capable of astounding anyone who hears.  On a few songs, such as "Baby Girl" and "Love at First Sight", he even loops a trumpet or harmonic solo on top of beats and guitar parts he records live.  Andre combines the lyrical whit of Jason Mraz, the rhythmic acoustic grooves of David Ryan Harris, the vocal stylings of John Mayer, the soul of Otis Redding and the stage presence of Dave Matthews into a style he utilizes to mesmerize all audiences.  Incorporating the best of acoustic pop, rock, and R&B with a twist of funk, Andre brings a new style to the table--full of diversity, entertainment and fun.
